I recently rediscovered historical weather data for Lexington, KY that I had. It runs from winter 1947-1948 to winter 2010-2011.

In this data set the coldest minimum low for any winter has occurred twice. The first time was during the winter of 1962-1963 on January 24, 1963 and the second time was during the winter of 1993-1994 on January 19, 1994. The low both times was -20f.

The warmest minimum low occured druing the winter of 1952-1953 on January 6, 1953 with a low of 14f.

The following months below show how many times the minnium low has occured during that month. This includes if the low was reached multiple times during a month.:

November:… 0

December:… 9

January:……41

February:…..18

March:………..5

The most times a minnium low has occurred more than once during a month was during the winter of 1947-1948. The low of -2 was hit on January 18, 24, 25, and 28.
