Our average high for August was exactly the same as July 2010’s average high. As of 31 August there have been 45 days of 90f/32c or hotter. That is 25 more than our average for a year which is only 20 days of 90f/32c or hotter.  On August 4th an Excessive Heat Warning was issued due to high humidity levels. We hit 97f/36c and the real feel temperature reach 115f/46c. Higher temperatures may have been approached but clouds moved in and kept the thermometer from going up anymore. August saw 3 heat waves with the current one still going on through the beginning of September.
